Two new species of the genus Sinopodisma (Orthoptera: Acridoidea: Catantopidae: Podisminae) from China

Abstract

Two new species of the genus Sinopodisma Chang, 1940 from Guizhou, China are described in this paper. S. xiai sp. nov. is similar to S. keloggii (Chang, 1940), but differs from the latter by the length of a segment in antennae 2.5 times width in the middle part, median keel of pronotum distinct, cercus of male very wide at basal part, its maximum width 2.2 times width of middle part and ancorae of epiphallus oblique inward, lower margin straight. S. fanjingshana sp. nov. is similar to S. wulingshana Peng & Fu, 1992, but differs from the latter in hind margin of pronotum with small hollow slightly in the middle, tegmina of male extending over the hind margin of first abdominal tergum distinctly, interspace of mesosternum narrow at the middle in male, ancorae of epiphallus lower than anterior projection, length of subgenital plate 1.5 times width in female. Type specimens are deposited in the Natural Museum of Hebei University, Baoding, Hebei, China
